At Ascot Community School we are committed to making your child’s transition to school as easy as possible.
Children usually commence school on their fifth birthday. Pre-entry visits are held at a time arranged between the parents and the classroom teacher. These visits are important to help your child transition to school with ease and familiarise the child with the classroom and environment. There are generally 2 short morning visits which will rekindle friendships with peers and initiate a positive relationship with the classroom teacher.
Every child’s transition to school is different and we cater to meet the needs of all children. Some children need more visits than others and this can be arranged prior to enrolment. We encourage parents to stay for the first visit to settle them into the environment and for the second visit leave the child once they have settled and are comfortable within the classroom. You are more than welcome to come and discuss your child’s transition to school at any time.
Please contact the school to arrange a time to visit.
